Climate Change
With historically high levels of water in the Lake Superior watershed washing out culverts and shifting plant communities, the effects of climate change have been felt in Northern Wisconsin for several years. To prepare for an ever-changing climate, landowners can shift the vegetative communities on their properties to match climate predictions. This vegetation will be better adapted for warmer, drier seasons with frequent high volume rain events, while also providing critical habitat for wildlife and pollinators that are sensitive to climate change.
