In 2023, Ashland County had TWO State Qualifying Posters: Khloe Radlinger (center) from the Grades 4-6 Division, as well as Khloe Kennedy (right) from the Grades 7-9 Division. Both students attend Butternut K-12 School in Butternut, Wisconsin. "The Khloes" are joined by Scott Caven (left), our Land and Water Specialist. 2024 Conservation Poster and Speaking Contest:

 

The Conservation Poster and Speaking Contest is a fun, educational, friendly competition open to all K-12 students (public, private and home-schooled). Participation is free and students can win cash prizes ($20 to $50+) and other prizes for their entries!

 

To participate, students will first compete in the County Contest; hosted by the Ashland County Land and Water Conservation Department. Winning posters and speeches from the County Contest will move on to the Area Contest. Winning posters and speeches from the Area Contest will move on to the State Contest. Lastly, winning posters from the State Contest will move on to the National Contest.

 

Listed below are the guidelines and entry forms with all pertinent information for both the Poster Contest and Speaking Contest. The Poster Contest is open to grades K-12 and the Speaking Contest is open to grades 5-12. 

 

Both the Poster Contest and Speaking Contest have separate entry forms that need to be completed and signed by a parent or guardian. Also listed below is a “Suggestions for Making Your Posters” document to help students create their posters.

 

Ashland County awards cash prizes, $20 to $50+, for the top 3 winners in each group of the County ContestAdditional prizes are awarded at the Area Contest and State Contest.

Please Note: ***The Poster and Speaking Contest IS supported by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction!***

 

Teachers with the MOST student participation will receive a $50 check as a token of our appreciation for getting your students involved!
